Installing on a network
Firstly install the DataFile:

Download the DateFile
zip file and unzip it to a new temporary folder on the computer that will be
used as your file server.

Click on the [setup]
programme. User Account Control comes up and asks permission to make changes
to this computer. Click [Yes].

It then goes to the
DateFile Setup installation program and advises that setup cannot install
system files if they are in use. Make sure that you don't have any other
programmes running and then click on [OK].

Click on the large
button to install the programme on the suggested directory [C:\Program Files\DataFile\];
alternatively, use [Browse] and suggest another directory. Please note
this directory should be a shared network folder. Each user should have
read/write access to the file.

It then says
[Installing Access Runtime]...then shows a screen saying [Setup will add items
shown to the group shown in the program box...] Click on [Continue].
Please note: If the programme has been installed on your computer before,
it then says [Version Conflict] [A File being copied is not newer than the
file currently on your system. It is recommended that you keep your existing
file.] Click on [No to All].

It then says [DataFile
Setup was completed successfully]. Click OK.
Then install the programme (eg;
TimeExpense) on each computer:

Download the programme

Click on the [setup]
programme. If User Account Control comes up and asks permission to make
changes to this computer, click [Yes].

It then goes to the
programme setup installation program and advises that setup cannot install
system files if they are in use. Make sure that you don't have any other
programmes running and then click on [OK].

Click on the large
button to install the programme on the suggested directory eg; [C:\Program
Files\TimeExpense\].

It then says
[Installing Access Runtime]...then shows a screen saying [Setup will add items
shown to the group shown in the program box...] Click on [Continue].

It then says [your
programme Setup was completed successfully]. Click OK.

The programme starts
automatically and you get a form asking [Enter the full path of the Data
programme].

We advise using Windows Explorer
(right-click on the [Start] button and click on [Open Windows Explorer] Find
the data file on the network then right-click on it a click on [Properties].
Copy the location address to the form; add a back-slash and the FULL name of
the programme with the file extension (eg; \DataFile.mde) and then click
proceed.

Then the programme should connect
and open. If it is not the correct address, it won't connect but will invite
you to try again.

Check that the data is what you
expect it to be by going into the Control Screen and checking that the records
shown are what you expect them to be. Use the data entry form to enter a new
record as a test if you wish; then close the programme.

Check the Desktop to see if a short-cut to
the programme has been installed; if it hasn't,
click on [Start] then click on
[All Programs]. Scroll down the list of programmes until you reach the folder
correct folder for your programme eg; TimeExpense and click on it.

The program is revealed from
within the folder. Right-click on the programme, clck on [Send to] then click
on [Desktop (create shortcut)].

Go to Desktop and click on the
programme icon . If User Account Control comes up asking for permission to
allow msaccess.exe to make changes to the computer. Click on [Yes] and the
programme opens.
